Fukuko port

In large Wakkanai port, you can watch waterfowls and seabirds easily at Hukuko Port in front of Fukuko-ichiba Market and at the oppositside of Fukuko. The sales point here are several tens of Long-tailed Ducks, staying from December to March. Additionally, you can watch Black Scoter, Harlequin Duck, Red-breasted Merganser and Greater Scaup. Pelagic Cormorant flocks sometimes hug to the quay in a line. As Laridae, you can watch Slaty-baked Gull and Glaucous Gull mixed flocks, and you may find a Glaucous-winged gull in the flocks. If you are lucky, you have a chance to see Common Murre and Spectacled Guillemot in the port.
