The World Peace Bell: It is a monument built in 1988 to pray for world peace. There are 3 bells, one of which stands in the United Nations Headquarters, the second here on Cape Soya, and the 3rd on the island of Ishigaki in Okinawa.   The Kosodate Peace Bell: "kosodate" means to raise a child. This bell is a symbol of prayers for household, regional, and world peace. The monument was built by "10 yen donations" from the citizens of Wakkanai, who vowed to make Wakkanai a peaceful city.
